Cleopatra in Action
The original concept used an arm to be able provide movement but with tighter constraints on sight lines, the Technical Director, Christian Johnson, decided on airplane servo motors to control the inside motion. This allowed the puppet to be self contained with power and control mechanisms hidden in the plant pot base. The original designs are by Richard Bay. The soft shell puppet materials include uplostery foam, crushed velvet fabric, and Foshape(fabric-like thermoplastic) with an airbrushed paint finish.
